For this unit we are looking into the play Citizenship by Mark Ravenhill which was published in 2005. Citizenship is a bittersweet one-act comedy about growing up, following a boy's frank and messy search to discover his sexual identity. The reason Mark Ravenhill decided to write this was for The National Theater Connections program, which commissions new play for young people to preform in schools. He wanted to get an understanding of how accurate he was with the context of the play so he deiced to gathered a group of students of the similar age's as the characters to read his play.

Planning
At the beginning we where given our scene and and our characters we did no do the whole play because it was to long and there was not enough people to play all the character I was given Tom (the boy confused about his sexuality) in scene 6 and I was partner with Ashleigh'may who played The Tarot Reader's Daughter (who was the all knowing fortune teller). Amelia and Aso where doing the say scene which encourage us to do better so we could be better than them even though it was not a competition. As a group we decided what props we would need in the performance. We decided on Tarot Card and a scarf.

Problem Solving
We faced only a few problems problem along the way which include how much we should exaggerate through the piece and what costume we should wear but after a few discussions we decided what we where going to do.

Evaluation
WWW:

  • Me and Ashliegh-may rememberd our line.
  • We used the props affectively
  • We engaged the audience.
  • We took our time and progectived each of our motives to the audience.
  • We used a lot of facial expressions.
EBI:

  • We should of had lights and sound.
